Venetian plaster and marmorino require skilled plasterers applying multiple troweled lime layers, so budget more labor time than drywall finishing. Where budget constrains full plaster, tinted joint compound applied in layers with a steel trowel approximates the depth at lower cost. Fluted wood paneling, routed at 1 to 2.5-inch spacing, is producible by standard millwork shops, which keeps fabrication cost controlled relative to its visual impact.
Do folding glass walls and indoor-outdoor rooms make sense in a Northeast climate?
Yes, when the operational realities are planned from the start.
